What will happen in twenty years after your skin has been sucking this stuff in for all those years?

If you can't stay out of the sun, use a sunscreen with a high protection factor (SPF 30+) during the peak of the summer season. Remember that the SPF figure is only a measure of the how much the sunlight is slowed down - stay out too long with ANY SPF level cream and you can still get too much sun. In practice, we don't know how quickly we burn, while factors such as sweat, water and application reduce sunscreen's effectiveness. So the better is avoid the sun's strongest rays between 11am to 3pm. Best of Luck and happy summers.

I have to use sunscreen. I have fair skin that burns pretty easily.

I do not use it all the time ..mostly when it is very hot outside and going to be out there for long period of time. Do have grandchildren we really have to put it on due to red hair..and some takes meds that will cause burning..but like you I often wonder..now I have seen young women go and do the tanning thing all the time and worked with them after about 5 years they are getting really old looking and skin is yellow in color...often wonder about the tanning thing in the salon also ..

Well, people have been using sunblock for over twenty years now, and I haven't heard of any studies saying it has harmed anyone's skin. On the other hand, we know about the dangers of sking cancer. So in my opinion, NOT to use sunblock would be foolish, especially if you have fair-colored skin.
