Will the new rules regarding MyLot help MyLot by stopping people from copying discussions or putting seemingly useless subjects in thus allowing for actual discussions or could it result in MyLot falling in disfavour with its members? I am hoping it will help weed out those who are just looking for a quick buck with those who use it for learning and sharing.

I've wondered the same thing. While there does seem to be a lot of people who are playing the system, I have seen a lot of people (more and more) posting quality discussions and I actually think (and hope) that this will attract more people to mylot and have the existing users stick around. I do hope the rules start thinning out the quantity and increase the quality. It will take me time to learn HOW to stay within the rules.

Well I know that's what they said they going to do,but I haven't seen any changes yet. After looking through all the discussion pages I still see as many nonsense postings as I saw before, and a couple of days ago, someone even copied my discussion and posted it as a response to the very SAME discussion! Can you believe it?

It is long awaited rule now implemented. The mylotians have to report such instances so that they will look into the matter and take appropriate steps. Yesterday I complined twice, some people have neatly copies my topics and introduced as their topics. They did not even change the tile and the words. I hope such nonsense will come to an end.

If someone takes your discussion and tries to run with it,they should be reported.Sometimes,it is just a fluke and hopefully MyLot takes a few seconds to determine if it was odds or copying.Mistakes DO happen, but theft is still theft.
