Does quota/reservation lead to inefficiency?

Do you support/oppose quata and reservation,onthe basis of gender,social class/caste, and minority groups, for admission to higher education in the educational institutions and for securing government jobs? Does quota/reservation empower the weaker sections and the target beneficiaries?

Many thanks for nicely responding. I agree with you, but, is it not difficult to ensure social justice and empowerment to the weaker and underprivileged section of the society,without having a reservation/quota system? What do you suggest to resolve this issue?
