IRAN has announced it would replace the dollar with the euro in foreign transactions and state-held foreign assets, in an apparent response to mounting U.S. pressure on its banking system.
“The government has ordered the central bank to replace the dollar with the euro to limit the problems of the executive organs in commercial transactions,” government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham said.
