Profession you wanted, but couldn't have

What did you want to do, or to be when you grew up, that for whatever reason you were not able to accomplish? When I was growing up, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I really love animals (probably more than I love humans, but that's another discussion LOL). I knew I was not good at math or science, though. And the thought of dissecting cats in school was way out of the question for me. Also, when I tried to join a veterinary magnet program at a local high school, I was turned down because of my race. I would still really love to work with animals, but now I don't know if I could put them to sleep. I'd be bawling my eyes out while doing it. It would be too hard for me.

You sound like a very positive person, and very helpful. The kind of person that would make a good nurse. Maybe someday you'll be able to fulfill your dream.

How long do you think you'll be helping your family? Is there any way you can work as an apprentice perhaps for a television station, on the side? Start as a volunteer and perhaps work your way up to a paying job?
