Is War Unavoidable in the World??

I am really sorry to hear the war in Iraq. I hate all the war in the world. Not only in Iraq but also in other zone in the world. I am always confused what is the real reason of war? is it due to contention of the resource and wealth? or is it just the battle of politician's ambition. We are now living a relativly stable and peaceful lives, why must we use war to solve the conflicts in belief or religion? A war may ruin the happy lives of thousands of famillies and people,even more! As we all known, the development of science promote our modern weapons more and more powerful than before,and some kinds of weapons even can destroy all of human beings. The modern war is thousands times more dangerous than before. Are you afraid that one day the wars may be out of control and ruin our beautiful earth? Can't we solve the conflicts with negotiation peacefully? If there was another widely war in the world like the World War II, I don't know if we can still have the chance to post a response here. Chrismas is coming while there are still thousands of soliders outside in danger,not only in Iraq but also somewhere else in the world. They should stay with their famillies enjoying the Christmas. So I start this discussion for the soliders and all the people who love peace! What's your opinion on war and its orgin. is it unavoidable in this modern world? Do u think that U.N is still capable of preventing the explosion of war? Thanks in advance!
