I've never known anyone who has done this. Of course, in most families I know, both parents have to work to support the family. I say that if the wife can make enough to support the family and the husband is comfortable staying home with the kids, why not.

I don't think it's the kind of thing that would suit my family for dad to stay home and me to work but I do know of a few full time dads. I think often it's a case of mums job is better paid or higher prospects so it makes sense for her to work and dad to stay home. I think it's a massive responsibility for a man though. I don't mean that to be sexist or anything but it's "normal" for mum to be nurturer and dad to be provider. Mums usually have the natural ability whereas, I would imagine, dads would have to practice! Sometimes I wish I could be the one to work while my partner stayed home, then he might realise why I get angry with him for doing nothing in his spare time! But I wouldn't trust him to look after the kids.

I think it's great, it's about time dads do that.
