Father-in-law

I've heard of mother-in-law's of beening 'bad' but what about the Father-in-law, the reason I ask is because my relationship was broken because of the problems between the father-in-law and me. Plz let me know that i'm not alone, this has to have happened to someone else, tell me your story.
