Women constitute half of the population, contribute for more than half of hte duites and responsibilities of the family but are hardly empowered to participate in decison making. Women's work including agriculture, animal husbandory and on the industrial front such as mat, coir weaving etc in the household entreprises are productive but not paid for nor accounted in the national income accounting.

Strange what kind of theory is that, they have contribute to the GDP of the country, just that in national income accounting is for per family(household) and what women earn or get are add to husband or father of the household for taxing purpose.
