At the end of a day, for a person, who is working, all it matters, 'How well did I enjoy my job?'.
I was working as Regional HR Manager, during 1994, when I was sponsored by the concerned organization for a Management Development Programme. I had to go through psychometric tests there, and it was revealed that I chose my career wrongly, and that was creating job dissatisfaction in me.
As I worked on the issue furhter I found one must have some solutions for it. Earlier the age is better. the best time that is suggested for one to ascertain the career is when a child is studying between VIII and Graduation standard.
The question is how to go about it? As it has been suggested by Barrett & williams the four factor those are decisive about the career personality are:-
Factual Orientation
Group Orientation
Liveliness
Aggressive attitude
The degrees of these can be determined by any professional career counselor and depending on this they will be able to suggest the appropriate career.
The very pertinant question is if somebody has chosen the career wrongly and is already working (95% of the working population are!), can anything be done about it?
Yes, there are several combinations are available in each career arena, and a suitable combination can always be found.
