A few months ago I caught up with the movie, Pollock, that Ed Harris directed and starred in. It was a gripping piece of biography, with superb acting. The character of Pollock came across as often self-centred, but also a great artist. In fact, as a result of this movie I now have much more respect for his work. Has anyone else seen this movie, and what did you think about it?

I have not seen this movie. Is it a new one? I will have to check it out. I love to watch biography type movies.

It was made in 2000, so it's not too new. Pollock isn't the most pleasant of characters, and treats his long-suffering artist wife (played by Marcia Gay Harding) fairly badly. The film also expects you to 'keep up with it' by not explaining who everyone is.

Are you interested in the lives of painters/artists? This is a very well made movie and shows the development of Pollock's work.

This is the first time I heard of the film Pollock directed and lead actor by Ed Harris. By reading the story line in IMDB it seems to be a film worth watching. I will surely catch this film pretty soon .....
