Finally I have decided to buy a new computer as I got most responces on my previous topic to buy a computer instead of a PDA + Phone.
I went through some processors available in my Area and I am confused between these processors.
1. Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 MHz (Clock Speed) 1024 FSB (Bus speed)
2. Intel Pentium D 3.4 MHz (Clock Speed) 800 FSB (Bus Speed)
Core 2 is latest technology by Intel and they say its better than their previous processors, so I must go for it but still I am confused is it faster than 3.4 MHz Pentium D in processing???
Which processor will give faster performance and i should buy that one?
Please solve my problem .

first of all dear its GHz not MHz secondlu still pentium D 3.4 wil be better than 1.8 duo core try getting any higher duo core like 2 GHz +. If thats not affordable then go for the pentium D u mentioned or the p4 with HT technology

Well basically it depends on the type of work that you are trying to achieve. If i were in your place I would go for the core 2 duo since it is going to give you faster processing since it has two processors built in instead of one that is it predicessor. Furthermore its bus speed is greater as well so go for the core 2 duo if you want faster processing

I recommend the pentium D processor as I have it . there are many reasond for it . Look at the features and benefits
Revved up multitasking
With an Intel Pentium D processor-based PC featuring two full processing cores, you get the flexibility and performance to handle multimedia entertainment, digital photo editing, even multiple users, simultaneously.
Your PC gets resources for multitasking, and you get to accomplish more while running multiple applications, such as editing video while downloading music.
Built for advanced applications
Get the most out of your demanding, multi-threaded applications, perfect for the new world of immersive, high-end entertainment. The Intel Pentium D processor-based PC with Intel dual-core processing technology provides the performance to take advantage of sophisticated gaming software which can result in realistic game environments and challenging game play.
Multiply your multimedia experience
Combined with a digital media adaptor and a home network, an Intel Pentium D processor-based PC allows two people to share the content from one PC - in the same room, or even from different places in the house. For example, one person can be checking email while the other uses a remote control to access digital photos stored on the same PC and view them on the TV from the comfort of their living room.

core 2 duo is the next tech of pentium D ... so its should (many people said its true .. from forum2 computer hardware) be faster than pentium D ...
don't jugde procs speed only from the MHZ they works .. but also the architechture of the procs it self .. in this topic (architechture of the procs) core 2 duo (esp 6600 type procs) is more n more effisien than pentium D ...
even compare pentium D to AMD x2 .. amd x2 is the winner ...
but when u comprae x2 to core2duo 6600 .. core2duo kill x2 ..
so u know which is the best for u ...
but this is only need to think if you look for the best perfomance system .. since core2duo is rather overpriced for right now i think ... JUST IMHO
