financial asisstance for caregiiver

my spouse, due to cancer was considered totally disabled last july.Although he manages alright he has a speach problem now.so i must be his mouth peice .He eats thru a feeding tube in his stomach ,i take him to the doctor ,i make his appointment s.Aside from all the usual housework i must also do all the chores theat he use to do.Can you tell me if there is a programfor financial assitanc in my case .He is only 54 but can't work anymore right now.Any ideas would be helpful.I feel like going to work ,but leaving him alone all day is not something i feel i can do.thank you

I am really really sorry to hear about that..You might want to try to get A disability check,and A SSI check for him,and to help him out,and you might want to also look arounf in Papers,and so on to see if there is anything that will be able to hehlp you,and you're spouse out,I am sure you could use all of the help you could get,If I lived near by you,I would come,and help you both out,and help you with some of the chores in my spare time,I am really really sorry to hear that,I hope he will be O.K.,good luck..

Here in the US the government offers financial assistance to low income level recipients. Perhaps back that could have been an option. I do hope all has gone well until now.

you should be geting SSI for him if you are not try to find out how to apply it differs from state to state. once you get that in processing he should get medical insurace trough SSI and state. because he is disabled and needs 24/7 help and you are employed they should provide a nurse or caretaker tha would be with him to assist and deppends what are your hours at work and your age sometimes they have someone to help around hosehold chores too. good luck.
