When Charlie Cat was still alive occasionally a little black and white cat would be sitting in my yard only to be cahsed away by Charlie. When Charlie died he seemed to come around a lot but would never let me pat him, I noticed he only had a little stump for a tail, so I found myself calling him stumpy, one day it was raining so I enticed him inside and gave him some food then everyday he would come to visit me, I tried to find out where he came from but nobody seemed to own him. But I did notice he seemed to hang around an old house 4 doors up where an old man used to live, I found out there used to be three people who lived in that house but one after the other they all passed away, they were real cat lovers, I worked out that the last one to die was an old man who was a bit of a loner, I think this was his last cat as the Council had made them get rid of all their other cats, when I thought back this little cat who sort of still looked like a little kitten must have fended for himself for a couple of years, so after the day I brought him in on that rainy day Stumpy has been with me, he is still a little aloof, I think sometimes he is still waiting for that old man to come home, but he is nice company and I think we do a lot for each other...Cats do make your life better.

Yes, cats do make your life better. I have thirteen of them and I wouldn't part with them for the world. They each have their own personalities. I am the only one who can tell them apart. I tend to take in strays and I got a pregnant one once. So I have her and her babies. I couldn't find homes for them, so I kept them. There is also another one who comes to my porch to eat but he won't let me get near him.
