I have lower lumbar spine deterioration and multiple sclerosis (MS) which has me now in a wheelchair after 20 years. Lately my doctors have been telling me that arthritis is claiming my joints because I do not rest off my feet more in a reclining position. Other than being bedbound, the need for this type of positionung chair to rest in several times a day has become much needed. So I go the usual paperwork route and find out that not only does Medicare not pay for any amount towards this chair, no organiztion will do so either because Medicare wont! SO here I am, using online money making sites like mylots to try to nickel and dime my way up to getting this precious item for me to be able to relax in a few hours a day and "get off my feet". (You try sitting in a hard office chair 15-16 hours a day without a break - thats what it feels like in a wheelchair). Thanks for helping me by making comments below!

Have you checked out freecyle? My sister had back surgery and needed to get a recliner and we lucked out in getting a lift recliner there. When she could go back to a normal recliner we freecyled it and someone who was having knee surgery got it. They might not always be the most beautiful of things off there but they can be servicable. It might be something to help you at least until you can save the money to get a new one. Freecyle is all over the world and it is free :) Something that is always good. The full url is: http://freecylce.org I wish you luck in getting one.

I really should just copy/paste or drag links in instead of typing them. The URL is: http://www.freecycle.org/
Sorry about that.

I am going to help you find a donor for your needs, I'll be back, I'll look around, I'll post on all of your discussions. Have you considered an online store? I have one at cafepress.com. There's also lulu.com that offers lots of free services, including a free storefront online.
I am also trying to nickle and dime my way home to my friends and family and my team of medical providers.

I am really sorry to hear that. My great aunt has the same problem. She also needs a special chair that no one will pay for. Someone suggested that she take up donations in places of business like set up cans and things. They do it all the time around here.
