I know (or have known) lots of women who've called themselves "football widows," "baseball widows," or "sports widows" but "Warcraft widows" are a sign of the times.
Addiction to online gaming is a real problem in some relationships. I read an item just this morning about a woman who was devastated because her husband gets home from work and proceeds to play nine straight hours of his online game (not World of Warcraft, in his case... WoW just happens to be the game that is generating the terminology). He doesn't eat with the family, play with his kids or spend time with his wife. She says their relationship is finished. But then, I know of other couples who play online games together, as a mutual hobby, and it's no detriment to their relationship whatsoever.
Are you a widow (or widower) to an online gamer? Is gaming an activity that you enjoy and share with your partner? I'm interested in what you all have to say!
