Have you ever bought a magazine for someone else? Have you ever given someone a gift subscription that they didn't yet know about?

I've given gift subscriptions to others many times over the years. When my one daughter was in her teens, I used to get her her favorite horse magazine every year for her birthday. The one year I didn't, she was very disappointed! I've gotten kids magazines to be sent to nieces and nephews to encourage their reading skills, and large print Reader's Digests for elderly shut-ins who were stuck at home. Everybody was always appreciative and thought of it as an unusual gift and really liked the gesture. I think it makes a wonderful gift!

Except for my son, the last time I bought a magazine as a present for someone else was when I was operated some months ago and one of the nurses mentioned a magazine she would like to have. I told my wife to buy it and give it to her.

yes I have and it is usually around christmas. I have given them to my grandparents as well as my kids. It is a gift to let them know they are thought of throughtout the year.
