How do you feel about flying?

I love to travel and see new places and meet new people. I wonder how people feel about traveling by plane. Personally, the things that bothers me are the trouble I go through at security in the airport, the lousy food on the airplane, the wierd people I end up having to sit next to, the dumb movie they decide to play, and the cramped seat I have to sit in.
Yes, they are a lot of issues, but they do not stop me from going to the places that I would like and seeing my friends and family. But I believe that others are not the same as I am. And so many airlines are losing money. They are merging all the time. U.S Air and America West had merged, and now more are pushing to merge, because they keep going bankrupt.
If we want better rides, we have to fly, because the last thing we want is a monopoly in the airline business, then things will just get worse.
I am interested to know how people feel about this issue, and I would love to see what other opinions are out there.

I love to travel too. And I agree, the seats are cramped. If you want a comfortable seat you have to pay more to sit in first class. I think they can make better seats for economy. Not everyone can afford first class. I love to fly but the security is annoying especially overseas. I flew this summer but the movies they played were cool. They were new releases. I guess it depends on the airline. And the food is never good, but you have to eat it or you'll starve. I had some ben and jerry's ice cream on the plane once, that was good. Longer flights give more, and shorter flights hardly offer you anything.

Yes that is true. In fact, I believe that the smaller flights like to charge for meals, because the last flight I took my NY. to CA, they weren't meals unless you paid for them. And you are right, it does depend on the airlines (however, they are all merging now)...jet blue and southwest, usually get bad feedback, I have yet to travel on them, so I do not know for sure.

I know exactly what you mean about flying. And I do agree with you that although there are a lot of hassles that go with flying, it's worth it to get to see another part of the world. I do have to disagree though about the food, because sometimes it isn't all that bad. And sometimes the movies aren't all that bad either. But I wish they would cut back on the security, regardless of all the "terrorism" around us, I think it just takes the fun of actually being the airport. I think I like being in an airport better than being in an airplane.

I'd rather not think about it really.
I'm one of those people who can't stand heights and anything above my height is to high. i always feel like the earths shaking and it does sound bad but it's easy to control but i wouldn't ever go flying or anything like that.
I would love to visit some friends in america or canada but i doubt i'll ever manage to get my wits to get on a plane!
Kudos
