Why is it that the greatest evils are caused mostly by men? Millions of Jews were murdered by a man in Hitler. All of the great asasinations have been commited by men, most of the violent gangs of Chicago and New York were made up of men, etc... Is it just simply that men are biologically more aggresive than women, and thus, are more likely to commit more crimes, or is the real answer deeper? Does culture perhaps play a slight role in the aggressive nature in men? I argue that it has to do with both. Looking at it from a cultural perspective; During the scientific and industrial revolution, there was a classical conditioning going on. Men were deemed more 'intelligent' and thus are supposedly more 'powerful', and as the years passed, many families began to teach their young boys to become aggressive, and assertive. Generally, males do not feel guilty about aggressive behavior, whereas, generally, women do feel guilty about aggressive behavior. This has to do with the classical conditioning that women should express more emotion and be more loveable. Looking at it from a biological perspective, it is known that men have a larger portion of the brain that triggers chemicals (stress chemicals) that initiate anger. It also has to do with the amount of testoserone. What do you think?
