I love homemade, creative or thoughtful gifts because to me that shows the person truely tried! I've gotten many, and I've tried to give creative gifts all my life. Best Personalized Received Gift: I received a scrapbook from my aunt that she started for me. She also gave me a whole box of stickers, decals, and tools so I could continue the scrapbook and it's now one of my favorite hobbies! Best Personalized Given Gift: I don't mean to brag, but I gave a lot of homemade gifts in my life! I made my sister a blanket for her wedding shower, it was my first ever attempt at crocheting (and so far my last) but it still came out ok :) I painted a kitty painting for my fiance (who loves kitties) and a usa painting for my mom. Those were paint by number, but more complex than regular and they both were impressed! So what is the best creative gift you've ever RECEIVED? and what's the best you have GIVEN? Please note, it doesn't always have to do with making it yourself, it could also be a very creative gift you bought someone that showed a lot of thought. Please share :) Maybe we will all come up with ideas for our next gifts!

I often buy gifts for people but I also include cards with them for special people in my life, particularly my husband, mum and dad for their mother and fathers day, birthdays and Christmas. In particular I made a 3D Christmas card of Superman flying in the air carrying a bag of gifts + poohbear and piglet inside, to Poohbears house (my hubby's nickname is poohbear, and superman is his fave character) in '06 Christmas and he thought that was really humorous. I must admit that card took me 4 hours in the middle of the night and I know that sounds crazy but hey at least he liked it lol. The only homemade gift I've ever received was a bag of truffles from my nextdoor neighbour and they were soooo professional!! Seriously thought they were bought because the wrapping was great and the chocs were so yum!

That sounds really creative. My aunt does a lot of photo editing for cards too. I know it takes a long time to get it just right - but if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it right! Another homemade candy item. I wish some of my friends would learn to make truffles :) Sounds great :) Thanks for your gifts!!

A new friend of mine is really into making gifts. She made hot chocolate mix to give people she put candy canes and all kinds of stuff in it. It was pretty cool. I'm not much into making stuff for others though.

I give platters of cookies that each family member likes best. I make a calendar on my computer that has the birthdays and anniversaries listed on each month of all family members. That is one gift that everyone appreciates most.

That's awesome. I love cookies :) My aunt made calendars for each of her siblings last year that included pics of their family on each month. So for January, since it's my bday, it had me! It was cute and thoughtful and time consuming since she didn't just put pics, but she edited them to match the page and such. That is a fun gift to receive b/c your family members probably can't make them on their own!

I thought the cutest one I got was a blue goblet like glass filled with candy and tied off string to look nice and fancy. Then, a few cute little odds and ends were added, like candles because I like candles. My partner gave me that one way before we started dating. Another cute thing she gave me was a hand woodburned dragon center piece type deal. It was cute and still hangs on my wall today. The most creative one I ever did was I got a bunch of small stockings from the store for really cheap. I ended up creating a little poem with candy names attached and I filled the little stockings with the candy pieces and the poem and then gave those to my friends. They all really seemed to enjoy them.
