I would tread cautiously if they are a good friend, because you won't want to lose that friendship which can happen if the other person feels embarassed or uncomfortable after such a declaration. It would probably be easier to say something like "I think you are special and I have some feelings about you. I don't want to upset you but felt that it was best to be honest." Then see where that leads. :)

Some people are shy. Some are hesitant to take the first step. So whoever takes the initiative will get the maximum. Haven't you heard of EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM.?

I was in a situation where I loved somebody and they didnt know. I ended up telling them but I think I made a mistake. We where best friends before I told him and I feel I have destroyed a bit of that friendship.
