When you are at a stop light that only works if you pull up to it and stop where it says too, how the the stoplight get the ability to know you are there waiting for a green light?

I believe when you stop your car where the sign says "stop here" there are electronic sensors in the roadway which transmit the info back to the stoplight that you are there waiting for the light to turn from red to green.

oh my f*cking god. Haven't you ever seen the triangle and circles cut in the cement? There are sensors underneath those that are tripped when the weight of a car goes onto them. Man where the hell have you been?

In my response I used the word "sensors". Granted I didn't say anything about the weight of the car or the actual road markings but I have no idea why you replied with such a harsh statement.
