Make a routine..bedtime every night at the same time...start with a story, music then lights out. They will fight it at first..but if you don't give in, eventually they will accept it. Kids know how far they can push their parenst. You have to show them different.

well...they go to school all day so we are up around 6am and they get home around 4pm...we do dinner and baths...we read a story and turn lights out and we try to make night time peaceful and calm...but they will sit in their room for hours, sometimes until 1am just playing with each other...or fighting...we've tried laying down with them but we dont want that to be a habbit...

Why are they getting up? are they talking or playing? Then you have to put them to bed at different times. Let them earn their bedtimes so it isn't always the same one going to bed early or give them each days of the week they get to stay up 30 mins later. Or do a chart, if they get up or play then they have to go to bed early.

Do they take naps? I would say your best bet is to get them to wake up around 8 in the morning and get them to take a nap around 1-3 if they take naps. Let them get a lot of their energy out by having them play outside for awhile or take them to one of those McDonalds jungle gyms for awhile. Thats what I do and it works!

Have a routine, make sure they are well fed, have used the bathroom and took their baths. Then they should sleep well. It may take a few nights to get them in the routine.
