Best way to overseed a yard?

What is the best way to overseed a yard. My grass is really thin and I'd like for it to be much more full. Any Ideas?

Aerate the lawn well and then sow more seed into the existing lawn, water and you will see new growth coming up. Good luck. :)

Unless he/she has a nice lovely dog who will gladly claim the yard for it's toilet duties!

Keeping it well-watered in Summer is also a good idea, otherwise you'll generally get certain yellow patches.
