It is so easy to make your own blends of spices. They are so much cheaper than the commercially prepared blends. I had a request for this recipe. Hope you enjoy it Samsonskola. Italian Spice Seasoning Blend 2 teaspoon dried basil 2 teaspoon dried marjoram 2 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried sage Combine all ingredients, store in an airtight container. This is so easy to make and tastes great.

I use it in my speghetti sauce, lasgna sauce, pizza sauce, chicken, and even on garlic bread sticks. There are just so many things to use it in. My sister in law does not make her own speghetti sauce like I do. She had a jar sitting on her table the other day. she ask me to open it and heat it for her. She was making speghetti for dinner. I opened it and ask were the Italian spice that I made her for Christmas was. She told me, I got it and added some along with some brown sugar. Slowly heated it till it was simmering. She could not believe what a big difference it made in the sauce. She said it tasted like homemade.

Hi villageanne, thanks a ton for the recipe. I love Italian food and have been experimenting with a couple of dishes at home. I'm sure I will find use for this spice blend soon. But I haven't heard of "Marjoram", is it another herb? Well, I guess when I go to the store I can look for it...thanks again!
