Man electrocuted by do-it-yourself mole extermination device

A 63-year-old retired construction foreman in Germany wired up a high-voltage cable to try to wipe out the moles digging up his garden. He was found dead in the garden of his home in Zingst next to a 380-volt cable and metal spikes placed into the ground nearby. Oddly enough, the moles all survived. OMG that is awful!Well, this does seem to give credence to calling a professional in. I have heard of poisons and even people trying to use the watering hose to flush them out. Can’t say I ever heard of this approach....Reckon we now know why.

I must admit, I had a problem with mophers this past summer. (For those that did not catch my mopher discussion, it is when you do not know if you have a mole or a gopher...but you have one of those two.) And those little darm mophers can be very very irritating! I swear, I was going to pull a scene from Pyscho and start stabbing the ground with a forked shovel!!! I even ran my water on high for 3 hours to drown those little buggers! Didn't work! I can understand that this man was just getting upset and thought of a way to get rid of the buggers that are very destructive. People do not realize these mophers tunnel under your house so much, they create more problems! One even dug into a friends house and was living under their bathtub! Talk about costly repairs! But, I will admit, I will think through what I am doing before I act to get those buggers. ha ha I would hate to end up electrocuting myself! Poor man! He just wanted to get rid of the moles!

You pyscho!! LOL I bet those little mophers are really iriating!! They would have to be for a 64 year old man to get upset and electrocute himself over! That is sad though! :( The little bugger! :)

Well, fancy trying something so silly if you have to cruel to moles you canbuy specialised things that make a noise they don't like so they leave, trying to electricute them is cruel. I'm glad the moles survived.

You know, it does hurt to even think about it. I wonder if his wife was calling him an old fool and saying, "you're going to kill yourself someday". Life is full of surprises.

Thanks for sharing the link. Electricity or appliances like mole extractor can be the worst enemy and killer if not handled properly; it can be the best friend if handled with due care.Right the moles survived.

That is really sad! And, the bad thing is that the boogers didn't die. I guess he took it all for them...what a brave man!! I don't think that I would ever use that method if I ever need to get rid of gophers! :D I have been for warned!!
