Someone should not put their pet's life in danger because of their own lifestyle choice. If they have an animal that doesn't HAVE to eat meat and they don't feed them meat than that's not a big deal. I had a snake before I quit being a vegitarian. I still fed her mice.

Great question. I would love to find that out myself. If the person is really into being a vegetarian, and strongly feels it is wrong to eat meat, then I would assume that the they won't feed their animal it either. But, it would be a mistake, as animals need animal protein to be healthy.

Actually, that is funny, but I did come across a vegetaian dog food. It's made with peas, carrots and grains. No corn of course, becuase corn isn't good for dogs.
I reckon if they want, the can vegetaiantize their pets as well.

I have been a vegetarian for 12 years. I still feed my cat normal food. I don't want to deprive her of things she needs to eat. As far as I'm concerned - in the wild animals eat other animals... so why shouldn't she have food made from meat? I don't eat meat because I have a choice. I do know people that feed their cats and dogs special vegetarian food. I'm not sure how much the animal likes it...

I was a semi vegetarian for a long time .. but I never expected my cats to turn veggie ... cats are after all carnivorous .. they did eat a few vegetables but only because they chose to not because I made them ...
I have known veggie people who have given their pets vegetarian diets but I really don't think it's very kind .. they need the appropriate food for them not a veggie diet because the owner is veggie ...

I have been a veggie for the last 24 years but I feed my cats meat.
I read that cats cannot have a vegetarian diet, as they are carnivores, unlike dogs who can be veggie's.
I'm not sure about other pets though.
