I first bought a computer when I got ill which was about 7 years ago and I taught myself to use it. How old were you when you learned how to use the computer and who taught you how to use it?

lOL, I am so old! I learned in the 10th grade and that was a big deal! We used those huge floppies a bit larger than a slice of bread! There were no colored graphics on the puter and we basically worked in a Dos format. That was in the late 80's. Then in 1999, we bought our first computer and I went nuts and self taught myself everything I know includind HTML. My husband took a diffrent approach and now can build computers.

I learned how to use the computer when I was twelve years old. That was the time when internet was introduced in Malaysia. I guessed without the existence of internet is Malaysia, computers would just be served as a medium used by working adults. I'm glad there is internet. Without it, the computer seems pretty useless..

It was nine years ago for me, up until then the only computers I had was an old amiga 600 then I upgraded to an amiga 1200 they were mainly play consoles. The first time I got a computer was from a friend of mine who was good with computers and he had actually built a PC for me. He showed me all the programmes and I self-learnt after that. It was the first time I got the internet and I thought WOW! What a great window of opportunity, from then on I've been hooked and I've never been without my computer, it would be like losing my right hand.

We always had computers in the house because my husband is a computer engineer but I never had any interest in them. Then about 12 years ago, I went into his workplace and because I was bored he showed me how to play solitaire on the computer. I thought that was great, but then I got bored with that also. He then set up a computer for me at home, and my son showed me how to surf the net so I got hooked on auction sites. Now I couldn't survive withour my computer.

I first used a computer when I was about 7 years old, I may have been younger. My grandad bought one and taught me how to use it. I can remember him getting it to this day, and can remember how excited I felt as he unpacked it from its box and set it up. He spent a lot of time with me teaching me how to play the games, looking back he was so patient. I think that's what sparked my love of games consoles, if a new one comes out i've just got to have it, I think i'm a geek at heart.

I learned computer in the pre windows age :) DOS and Basic, etc I wasn't impressed as the applications wasn't really advanced.. I started to learn modern computers in the mid 90s and I depended on myself to do so.

I was quite young when I had first learned how to use the computer. I think I was in Junior High or something back then. My parents began to allow me to use the computer & didn't quite know half as much as I had.. I studied computers all through the time that I was in school so I learned quite a bit over those past few years. But I feel like quite honestly that I had taught myself how to use the computer. There we're things I began to learn along the way just through trial & error. I feel like every time I had logged on to our computer that each time I had learned something new. It got to the point where I started becoming known around the house as the "computer expert." Every time there was a problem with the computer my mom began to ask me questions instead of turning to our computer tech.. Especially if she was having problems figuring out how to do things or what certain tools we're on the computer & what there function was. Still to this very day people will turn to me for advice when it comes to the concerns they may have. I've been able to help family members quite often when they didn't know how to do something. Sometimes I feel that I have been able to surprise myself with the knowledge I have carried with me over the last few years when it comes to my computer. The thing I have found that I like about having a computer is.. How every day is a learning experience for me when I find myself using my computer. For me the process of learning about computers & how they work is a never ending process. I learn something new each & every day & that helps me to grow & become more knowledgeable about computers in general. In conclusion.. I have found the large majority of my life that I have been able to teach myself the in's & outs of how to use my computer.. And.. The applications that are on it. By knowing all of this I am more than happy that I have been able to help out other people with there own concerns when it comes to there personal computers. I'm glad that I have allowed myself to take in all this information & apply it to my daily life! Thanks for allowing me to share! xx
