im going to make my baby's food also when she's ready to eat it. i think you boil it and then use the water from (except from carrots and things with nitrates) it to puree it in the blender. as they get older, you make it thicker. you can pour it into ice trays and freeze it, then put the frozen squares (about an ounce each) into baggies and thaw how ever many you need at a time. my friend does this and says its much cheaper and makes alot!

Yes, I made baby food from scratch when my kids were babies.
Cook foods until soft...pasta, veggies, meats, chicken, fruits (can be left uncooked or cooked). I always added a small pinch of salt to help flavor, but not much. I used a food processor (blender could be used) to make it the consistancy I wanted.
When they were older, I would process less and leave larger pieces and as they grew kept it up until they could eat the foods we did.
My kids were never fussy eaters and they enjoy many foods as adults.

This is a simple recipe to prepare fresh baby food for your baby rather than the expensive jars. Found this on a Vegetarian website, I think. It makes 4 cubes, so I put 4 servings since I would consider this a side dish
3/4 cup fruit (Should be fresh & ripe, uncooked peaches, nectarines, bananas, pears, apricots, apples)
1 teaspoon unsweetened fruit juice
1 teaspoon lemon-flavored water (1 teaspoon lemon juice to 1 cup water to prevent darkening)
Remove skin and seeds from fruit.
Puree ingredients in baby food mill or blender until smooth.
Serve or freeze
hope you like it

Hi, for me I normally steam food like fish, chicken, carrots, potatoes, apples, pears and then puree it. I did not have the habit of freezing it as I think it's much more nutritiouus for the baby to have the food as fresh as possible. You can add these pureed food into baby cereal or porridge. There's no need to add salt at all until baby reaches 1 year old.
