When I am stuck in a traffic jam, I am always bombarded by my six year old son with lots of questions about the mechanicism of the car. What does the steering wheel stands for, what is that push for etc. Once he asked me if he could press the electric windows switch because he did not know what it does. I invented a story telling him if I press that switch our car could fly. He immediatedly answered does it fly like chitty chitty bang bang's car. I nodded and he took it as an affirmative answer. From that day onwarsd he began telling everyone that our car can fly. His curiosity was so great that he asked me to fly my car! So you can imagine the excuses why we should not press that switch, coming up with excuses such as we can get a ticket by the traffic warden, or that mum has travelling sickness etc etc.
Do you enjoy telling stories?

This is great. Your car can fly! lol
I love the part when your son asked you if the car is like: "chitty chitty band bang's car". So funny!
Kids are amazing when they believe such stories. It always puts a smile on my face when I heard such stories on kids.

Children at times do ask interseting questions. This shows that they are intelligent. We should try to answer it and develop their intelligence.

I think you have a very wonderful imagination.
I don't I would have ever come up with that the switch could make the car fly!!! LOL
But my kids already know that the switches control the windows.
My kids are not so well as your's to ask if they can push a button.
My kids see a button, you best hope it is not attached to the nuclear mass destruction weapon. Because they see the button and it is gonna be pushed!!! LOL
My youngest son likes to play with the windows so much, I am glad they put a child lock on it! But then he knows that I locked it and gets upset!
So we had to work out a deal. He can roll it down a bit...but if he plays with it, it means that he has to roll it back up or I will lock it again.
And heaven forbid if I roll the window up myself!!! That is a crime in my car when he is in it with me! LOL

We all know how far kids imagination can go but I did not know the father's imagination could go to this point! LOL!
Yes I agree with your telling stories to your kid. It helps you to have a good relationship with him. I bet he says something when in the future he discovers that you actually lied!
