Our computer has been through a number of changes recently, the biggest of which is I had to reinstall the operating system (xp-home) and all our software. Now when I go on certain websites, I get a little red X instead of a photo or graphic or button. Also, when I try to get to certain sites (such as pogo.com), it doesn't even appear. Instead I get an error page which tells me to check my browser settings. I know how to check my browser settings but I don't know what needs adjusting. Can anyone help me?

Sounds to me like you're missing either java or flash player. If you haven't installed java it doesn't come with XP, so you would need to install it to view certain things. Flash player is usually more of the games.
java.sun.com will give you a free java download

You have to try Mozilla Firefox, you can download it from their website and its free. More and more people using it than Internet Explorer of Microsoft. Maybe the creator of Firefox put more effort to keep the high standard that makes it more error free and fast browser that others.
