To spank or not to spank?

I try not to do it in public too much, but if it has to be done it has to be done. Spare the rod and spoil the child, I take that seriously. I don't want some out of control kid on my hands, I feel like I need to discipline him. As long as the spanking is not overly hard and in the appropriate place, there is nothing wrong with it.

Not in public.. as someone said it's humiliation really.

I think it depend on the parents. I got spanked when I didnt behave in public when I was younger. I was embarrassed so I never didnt again. I took my nephews to shopping one time and there are 3 and 2 of them behave really bad. They did screamed and telling me what they have to get the toys. They already got candy of their choice and that was the deal. Screaming and kicking, trying to break the toys, I did spank them at the store. I put everything away and left empty handed.

I would never spank my children in public..believe me there are times i would like to, but I would never do it in public like that! It would just humiliate the child and plus too many people are nosey and might try to report a parent for "abuse" just because they spanked!

Well i dont think so that someone should be spanked in public its such a shame and disgrace

I don't think I would spank my child in public but maybe in private. My parents spanked me when I did something so wrong and when I got spanked I never did it again.
