Are you aware of the conspiracy theory about Area 51 in Nevada? The U.S.Government has been keeping, and studying, a group of aliens that landed near there back in the 1950's, I think. I'm not positive of the date. The little green men seem to have telepathic powers by which they can communicate to each other, and possibly us, too. They have also mastered the art of making things move by the power of their minds. They have also mastered the power of communicating with machines, but the machine must be already running for it to work.
I think they have three legs, each. This makes it necessary for them to get another sock for the third foot.
They can't just walk into Wal-Mart and buy one sock, so they liberate one from all the dryers in the country at various times when the dryer is running. You will notice that EVERY TIME YOU SEE ONE OF THESE ALIENS, THEY ARE NOT WEARING ANY CLOTHES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOCKS ON ALL THREE OF THEIR FEET, AND THE SOCKS NEVER MATCH. This is the only possible theory I can come up with that makes any sense. Any other theories out there?

Yes, of course our socks are gone away too :DDD,but I do not care.
Only my boyfriend asks me sometimes, what can I do with them, but I just laugh on him. Earlier or later the socks appears:D I know.
They have their private life:DD
When I was poor to buy an automatic washingmachine, my sister gave me her old spin dryer. Well, it was really funny, that I found her husband's half pair socks in it:DDD
I rather do not care with them. They are like unfaithful husbands- will come back to you.

I have often considered this dilemma and have decided that the missing socks are stolen by the laundry gnomes. I must have 150 orphan socks in a basket in my bedroom. I can see missing one or two, but 150 socks just don't walk away by themselves.

Good post dear. Well, I have had that many times. But, I figured out where they went. Sometimes inside the corner of a fitted sheet, and sometimes inside a shirt sleeve. That is where mine go. Where do your's go?

well sadly, I have yet to figure out where mine go! We currently have 12 socks on top of the dryer with no matches! We look in sleeves, and such, but they never appear! I think there is a sock monster living in my dryer!

I know what happened to my first missing sock as a newleywed. My little fuzzy kitty fell passionately in love with one fuzzy lime green footie, and ran away with it. When we moved it never surfaced, so I am sure she ran away to the ocean with it, to give it a thrill.

We have a little invisible mad man we call "I don't know" He lives in the house and is in constant hiding. He only comes out when the dog is asleep. We of course can't see him but my niece told us all about him when she was 5. Every time we asked her what happened or who did whatever she would say "I don't know" one day my mother was really mad because my niece spilled hot chocolate all over the rug. When my mother asked who spilled hot chocolate, my niece as usual (the only one in the room) "I don't know" My mother said well I'd like to meet Mr.I don't know. My niece piped up with..."well he's invisible, you can't see him and he must of did it cause I wouldn't spill it on your rug gramma"
She then went on and on how only the dog can see him so he waits till the dog is asleep..etc. So now we know where our missing socks go...I don't know is making a big comfy mattress with them...and when we find his sleeping place all the world will have new socks...lol

I always check my dryer inside to make sure that they do not get caught in there. And I think that is what happens to socks, sometimes they get stuck inside.

Well, I would like to think that I simply lost them along the way to the washer/dryer, and then somehow they managed to find thier way under the sofa, where I would not see them. But that is not very logical, but it's more logical than the alternative, that they simply dissapear. My father in law would say that someone broke in and stole them, (he honeslty says this when he cannot find something, or all of the cookies are "mysteriously" gone (he's diabetic)).
