I wish I had an answer for this one! I must repeat myself at least a hundred times times in the run of a day with my children. I tell them they have selective hearing, lol. I will be back to check and see what other parents do to try and resolve this issue.

So I am not alone. I thought that I am the only crazy one who keeps repeating instructions to my two youngs kids, 7 and 8. I have to keep checking 'Have you brush your teeth?', 'Have you pack your bag?", "Have you wash your face?". Even after writing the list and asking them to follow, I am not sure if they really follow and so I ended up asking again. Sounds crazy, isn't it? Anyone has any successful formula to share?

I am afraid there's really nothing we can do. Repetition especially when dealing with children is part and parcel of their learning process. I will be surprised if you don't have to repeat yourself and all is done exactly as you want it in just one saying. Even with adults, this will hardly work. We just have to be sure we are clearly understood and get ready to repeat ourselves if necessary.

Sometimes I don't even get the chance to repeat myself, I take action before the first time haha. Sometimes I repeat myself, 2-3 times is the most, then action time.

Hi. I feel like I repeat myself several times a day over and over to my child. I seem to tell her the same things everyday. Most of it is clean your room, empty the dishwasher, take out the trash, did you put away your laundry? How was school. Dont leave that mess there. I have started writing her a list that she can go by too so I dont have to keep telling her things. she can look at her list to remind herself of what she needs to get done daily or weekly.
