Has anyone out there completed a chapterhouse proofreading course, and has this course led to actual work opportunities, or has it been a course which was interesting but did not actually result in obtaining paid work as a proof reader?

No Gabs I don't think you would have done one either! You just write the books, and then someone like me has to read them and put any dots, commas and spell checks into them lolololol. You stay the way you are, a great writer, and I will try to pick up any clangers lol.
Ooops better answer your question or that snazzy atavar will change to a raging angel! The course is to teach a person how to proof read to a very high standard and after the course is completed this is supposed to lead to well paid employment. I wondered if anyone had completed the course and managed to get any employment. :-)

My dear, now we have got you settled in the new nest I am hoping to start work on your book in 10 more days, ie 12th February, so you had better finish it so we can go on to the second draft!
The proofreading course would have come in very handy but we shall have to rely on me being less dopey than usual and picking up the typos lololol.

I have not taken a course in chapterhouse proofreading but I am well earning today as a proofreader. Is it really necessary for you to take that kind of course before you can get a job as a proofreader? Here in our country, we only need to have mastery in English and be a graduate of any course, then if we like, we can apply as a proofreader and get hired.
