Fluoride

I have read that fluoride is actually toxic waste and that they started putting it in the water supply as a way to get rid of it. It is supposed to be a deadly poison, but we get it in small enough doses that it doesn't kill us. I also heard that the Germans put it in the drinking water of the Jews in concentration camps because it tended to make them more docile. I know that too much fluoride causes fluorosis which is heavy discoloration of the teeth. I had it as a child and it's common in the southern states where the water is more heavily fluoridated.
If you google fluoride you can find out a lot more. Is this just conspiracy theory stuff or is there truth to it?

Well I admit I had a bad experience with flouride. I'm on of those ones that it damaged my teeth far more then it ever helped. However I decided to take a look around the web and i found more then one site that listed the dangers of flouride and how it shouldn't be used today. Some listing about deaths that occured from it, lower fertility rates, bone damage, teeth damage, and so on. The World Health Organization classified fluoride with
lead, mercury, arsenic and persistent organic pollutants. That alone is enough to make you wonder. Here are a few links to judge for youself:

I grew up in the south and have lived a few places. I have really white teeth. I don't think anyones teeth are more yellow than anywhere else in the US. Plus, there is only a certian amount fo flouride allowe din the water so everyones water should have the same amount of flouride. People who grow up drinking non-flouride drinking water have more cavaties and teeth problems. I believe that if the flouride was really dangerous the FDA would have been up in arms about in long before this.

Fluorosis is a condition where the teeth are mottled with brown spots. It's not yellow teeth. Not everyone in the south has it. Fluoride levels do have upper limits but the amounts are not uniform nationwide. And if it's the government who put toxic waste in our water to begin with, I don't know why a government agency would get up in arms about it.

If you look at the definition of fluoride on Wikipedia even they mention the hazards of it!!! PA's government is trying to force our local water company to fluoridate the water because of studies they have done in Philly and Pittsburg saying that they fluoridate the water and have less incidents of cavities...all that says it that people in my city are morons and don't know how to take care of their teeth- nothing more. I am going to call my water company and complain. I eat plenty of foods with fluoride already in them, I brush my teeth using fluoride toothpaste...for God's sake, I don't want to overdose on fluoride just because I like to drink a lot of water!

I think thats whack. Its put in to our water and toothpaste in small amounts to clean your teeth. What about at the dentist when they flouride soak your teeth for 5 minutes to clean them fully?

I guess for the same reason doctors used to cut open people's veins when they were sick, thinking it would make them better. More dentists are starting to realize the dangers of fluoride. nofluoride.com and fluoridealert.org are two sites with more information. There are lots of other sites as well.
Hey, looks like your star is rising. :)
