Hi did you know there is a new type of colander out now it sounds very interesting to me what do you think here are the details it is a flat fold colander is the full size strainer that folds flat after use to store anywhere in your kitchen. Toss away your traditional bulky strainers. Flat Fold Colander sits high, so whether you’re washing, rinsing, straining or draining, the water stays away from the food I do believe that these maybe better than the old type of colanders what do you think.

Heya, This sounds like a great idea kathy77, I get so fed up with my colander taking up so much room in the cupboard. Where did you hear about this? Where can I see one? Tanika.

These might be interesting, where do you buy them? My favorite new items are the silicone baking pans. They have been around long enough that they now are affordable for the everyday cook, and I have several.

I only just picked up on this one Kathy, but if you see the bother I am having with colanders, do you know anything more about this new type now, and do you have a link to it please? I am also looking for a large sieve because the one I have is never big enough for their rice, sigh! Thank you for any help you can give here.

I have seen them in the stores and I want one. I am thinking of getting one this payday. I think they are great. I could toss out my old ones (to the playground for shifting sand) and free up some cabinet space. This flat thing would slide right between my pot lids. I really like the idea of the foldign colander. I am thinking of getting a few. One for washing fruits and veggies, one for straining pasta and one for peeling potatoes. I have 4 old fashioned ones so I might as well replace them all. :) I would toss the plastic ones to the playground at my son's school and use my metal one (it is from the 1950s) as a decorative accent on my table, maybe put fruit in it or use it as a bread basket.
