I just read a post on a nother forum where a fellow was asking about things to avoid when creating a website. My response was to keep it clean and simple. No music, no flash intro, very little animation, and no page transitonts.... you know the type. All that fading and dissolving wastes time. Can you think of other things thatpeple do on their sites that either makes theloading apain or makes your computer freeze?

Hi SageMother, I would agree with people to keep it clean and simple especially professional website, but I see no harm in some websites being a little fancier, it's nice to see some pages fading and dissolving and some flashy gimmick, but not on every page I go to. I think surfing the web would become a lot more boring if we all kept them the same!

I agree with your things to forget about, except maybe a flash intro, when used corretly they can be a very intriguing visual aid, for example a short flash intro which implodes into a flash navigation system. Personally the number one tip I could offer is become a master of using tables. All good sites use them, you can change the visual look of a page symply by changing the border, cellspacing and cellpadding. Tables are amazing!

I detest javascripts on websites .. they tend to lock up my computer. I also hate webpages that has ALL the text centered .. looks simple (that isn't a compliment)!
