Why do we compare anything?

I think one aspect is because we want to show, to prove that we and ours is better than the others. Care to add more to this thread?

I am not sure I know the meaning of this one, I don't think I am a comparer, I just like what I like regardless what anyone else has, likes or cares...:)

Thanks for your response! A small example - neighbors comparing furiture during a gathering, each one tries to be one up on the other.

I would say we always compare so we can have better lives by learning about all the things we need around us. We also make better choices because we learn we may want different

That is true and I think it is also to find the difference or similarity about that thing.
