When you buy books for your collection, do you buy hardcover books? When you buy books to read, do you buy paperback books? If you like a series of books by one author, do you buy them in either paperback or hardback? Does your collection have to match, either all paperback or all hardback? Do you have a preference?

I'm not a book collector but i do love reading books. My budget would only permit me to buy paperback books. besides, the content's still the same and it would even be convenient to carry along with you paperback books than those in hardbound. I also lend my friends a copy of my book so it's practical if i buy paperback books.

I prefer paperbacks. Not only is it cheaper that the hardbound, its also lighter. I always carry my books in my bag and if i bring hard cover books it tends to be heavier. And besides they contain the same thing so i don't wanna pay much more for hard cover books.

I prefer to buy paperback books for my reading. I find it hard to hold up the hardback books at times. If I really love a series and I plan on collecting it then I will buy hardback, but they will just be for the collection. I will also get the paperback so I can read it. Yes, my collection has to match. If I really want to read a certain book and I can't find it in paperback or I just can't wait until it comes out in paperback then i will get the hardback.

Though I prefer a hard cover book with reasonably large print always, I end up buying paperbacks often. because they are cheap, lightweight and easily dispensable if you do not plan to collect it. Whenevr possible, I try to buy a new book in hardcover if I am sure they go to my collection. Even if I have a paperback book that I would need to keep in my collection, I use a strong plastic cover for durability. I like to keep my books clean and ship-shape.

I prefer to read soft cover books. I don't know why, but that's always been my preference. THere are some books that I have that are hardcover, but that's only because I couldn't find it a paperback. So, my collection doesn't match, but I don't care, because I read them for the enjoyment of reading them.

I like both but I think I lean more towards papberback books because that is what I can afford! Hardcovers are nice though, much more sturdy then paperbacks and they look nice on the shelf.
