My take is "People sprout differences in race, class, culture, nationality, religion and use that nonsense to built a reputation as champions of their own cause/s and the gullible public laps it up and puts such people on pedestals." What's your take?

It isnt just those things that make people noticeable mostly it is charisma and wisdom that bring people to the forefront. Leaders are born not of race but of humans
