I have actually called those types of shoes by either name. I think that I most commonly call them sneakers, though, since it is easier to say sneakers than 'tennis shoes'. Sneakers are so comfy and are nearly the only types of shoes that I have ever worn, other than a few pairs of sandals and other open-toed shoes that I used to wear in the summer.

I hate wearing sneakers and flat shoes. I'm not even short, but for as long as I can remember, I like my shoes to have big, chunky heals. Boots are my favorite.

Something else, dress shoes to be exact. I don't do a whole lot of sports activities except for golf so I don't wear a lot of sneakers and stuff and for work and other places I go for the dress shoe since it looks the best with my suits.

I called them tennies. Then sneakers. I don't wear them, so no need to call them anything now.:)

I just call them runners which to me is short for running shoes! I am a big fan of running shoes and i am never much into heels or anything i guess that could be the tomboy in me!! I almost always buy a mens shoe over a ladies shoe also!
