I have a neice who is on medication for ADHD, she is so uncontrollable, even on the medication. She only started a few months ago, and is terrible without it. Can anyone send me any advice or offer any stories from situations they know of personally. My mom and sister are trying to deal with her as best as they can. Her father is really bad with this condition too, but he is on drugs. She is a real sweet little girl, almost 6 years old now. But a real terror too. We need help and advice. Please.

My son was has ADHD, he no longer takes the med's I took him off of it because it was messing him up. Maybe you need to have the doctor switch the medicane or adjust the dosage on it. These kids need alot of stucture and attention. My son is improved so much now, I took him out of public school and I home school, he is responsible for certain things around the house and if he doesnt do what is expected he has consiquences for his actions. He has time outs, sitting in his room thinking about things. He loves to read and that keeps him calm for periods of time. When my son is having a real bad day I make him run the drive way a couple of times, it's to burn some of the energy. Hope some of my techniques help.

We noticed that Ali is very very smart. Way beyond her years. She loves puzzles too. She has to stay busy. But she goes through times though that she is destructive. My mom's house is so scarred up, she kicks the car, hits people, throws things. She can be loving, but she goes through terrible temper tantrums too. Your response was very helpful. I agree too that she needs stability in her life. My mom keeps trying to insist that she stay with her, but she is 75 yrs. old and cannot handle her, Ali's mom will let anyone who wants to, keep her. She has 2 little boys who are about 11 months apart too. But they are trying. She is keeping her more and more.
