Bullies at school

How do you handle bullies at school? My 8 year old have constant remarks from a girl in her class. It started her first year at prep school and the child just never stops. Both her and her parents have been approached by the school, but it just never stops. I seriously need help or advice on how to stop this wicked child. I am encouraging my daugther to ignore her, and even this don't help. I also do not want to change schools, because I stay in the area and the bully does not. please help
