As a woman I'm super sensitive to what we call fat. Most of us have body image issues that have been engrained in us from the culture we live in. I'm guilty of this too! I have struggled with liking my body for years.
I know as much about Tyra Banks as I know about quantum physics, but after catching an interview with her this morning on Good Morning America I'm immediately a fan. She's doing a show tomorrow on the rail thin models that now walk the catwalks... about how dangerously underweight they are. She's trying to turn the thinking about what is healthy/looks good and what doesn't. I love that she's so honest about her weight, that she's telling the modeling and entertainment industry that she won't be suckered into thinking she needs to fit some mold that they've created. BRAVO TYRA!!! You have yourself a new fan! Woo Hoo!

I watch Tyra's show almost everyday and didn't know much about her until like 5 months ago. She seem like a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. I also think she's really focused on what's really important about a person and that's what's on the inside is as or more important than looks. You can tell this from a lot of the topics on her show.
As for her weight, I think anyone who thinks she's fat is delusional and doesn't have a realistic view of how a real woman looks. They don't look like the pencils we see in magazines.

All I can say is, You go girl :) That is great that she's fighting back that way. I agree with you I don't know much about her but hearing that is enough for me to be a fan. It's about time that some realize that being rail thin is not that healthy especially how thin they want some of these models to be. I think she looks great in that picture you have attached to this. She looks healthy, not fat. I wish more would follow from her example. I also hope more will express words of encouragment to her and to this issue.

She seems very strong. It would be hard to be in the spotlight, having people talk about your body, but she's beautiful and she knows it. I admire the way she wants to help women with their body image issues. We should all make a point to watch her show on Feb 1st... the program will be about this very thing.
