Is it better to be trendy or timeless?

Whether it comes to your personal style in fashion or homes, which do you think is better? Can things be both trendy and timeless? I always have clients who want their designs to be trendy and timeless. Talk about a challenge!

i think a combination of both will be ideal though personally, i prefer timeless style. Trendy designs add spice to timeless ones. But i think personality also plays a major role here. Preferences differ based on personality. So i think neither is better. Its just a matter of dealing with different styles. =)
