Does the bread really make a difference?

I know some people who don't care what kind of bread goes on their sandwich, but for me, the bread makes a huge difference. My favorite bread is rye bread (as shown in the picture). I love the seeded kind the most. Not only is this bread harder and less flimsy than regular white bread, but it also provides a different flavor that makes the sandwich that much better! At restaurants, I also love wheat or multi-grain. I will eat regular white also, but I like to mix it up. I can have the same sandwich every day if I just changed the bread :) What about you? Do you have one favorite bread or do you prefer to mix it up (and why) ??

I have no doubt in my mind that the bread is what makes the sandwich! For roast beef or honey ham, I have to have an onion topped bun (that is when I am having a cheat day from my diet). I am so picky about my bread that I won't bother to make a sandwich if I know I don't have a certain type of bread in the house. Egg salad - has to be on toasted white bread. Breakfast sandwiches - have to be on a muffin Turkey - best with pita bread or pite pockets

Well I won't go as far as not making the sandwich, but I won't enjoy it as much if I'm in the mood for a certain bread. I've never had egg salad on toasted bread but that sounds good! I love egg salad, even plain :-D I love pita pockets, especially the mini ones. Sometimes I make mini sandwiches with them. Good answer!

I LOVE bread! I especially like warm french loafs with butter spread. I could eat a whole one every day! I have yet to try a wheat version of this, but I am sure it is just as delicious! I prefer my sandwiches with wheat bread or a white sub roll.

Those are good. My dad got me hooked on french bread too, but I don't use it on sandwiches, just with butter like you said. MMM MMM good. Sub rolls are always good, and more filling than regular bread. Good response :)

I love rye bread too, I like the nutty texture. My husband hates it though, so I tend to only buy a little for myself, and standard brown bread for him.

We generally use white bread, and it's usually Wonder brand. Once in a while I'll pick up a small loaf of pumperknickle, since I'm the only one that eats it. I also make banana bread, too.

For a bread lover like me, the bread makes a lot of difference. I particularly like french breads, english muffins. It has to do with the texture and consistency. Good breads are good with butter alone. I prefer them toasted ofcourse. But if it's for a sandwich, any bread that's easily available is good unless I have a choice.

I'm picky about most of my food and bread especially. I like dense breads with nothing in it like nuts or seeds and it has to be whole wheat, natural with no High Fructose Corn Syrup because why would they need to put that in bread anyway! I also love love pumpernickel bread it's especially yummy toasted with garlic butter and served with soup. I have a weakness for breakfast breads like cinnamon raisin, apple, blueberry etc... yummy yummy

mmmm! I didn't even think about fruity breads. I love those. Good response, I agree they shouldn't have to put corn syrup in bread. I don't think I've ever had pumpernickel, I'll check it out.

Well for sandwiches I usually prefer white bread. Now there are some exceptions. Like for a good Rueban I love that on rye bread. Some sandwiches do call for specialty bread like sour dough but for the most part I just stick to white and different varieties of white, like french bread, sub rolls etc.

I love bread and always eat the whole grain type. I like it dense and sometimes nutty/seeded. I can eat many types of bread without anything on it. My mom makes a wonderful dense wheat bread with nuts and seeds and sometimes raisins and other dried fruits.

I prefer white bread for sandwiches and wheat bread when I have a PBJ. I use whole grain wheat bread most of the time. I think my favourite between the two is white bread.

I love breads dipped on beaten eggs with milk then pan-fried, one thing to make a healthy breakfast. Rye bread is also good for persons with diabetes, it has less sugar content and more proteins like wheat breads. I do also love subway sandwiches, I like dressing it up and make it more original..

Oh for sure the bread makes a difference! Depening on the type of bread, it can really make or break what type of sandwich you are going for. Who wants wheat with their spaghetti? Certainly not I! :)
