We all know that computers are connected with UPS(unregulated power supply) isn't it? but, have you ever thought on why inverters are not used for computers in place of UPS? Any views here?

Both UPS and inverter provides power from batteries when electricity is not there. Both of them takes time to change the power source from electricity to battery. And the taken by the inverter is longer and the absence of power created by the delay will reboot the computer. However, the UPS circuit let it shift the power source within the tolerable time limit so that the PC continues to run. Hope you are satisfied.. Happy mylotting, friend

I also think that most probably inverter takes longer to change the power than the UPS in changing the power source when power goes off.

Some people do use inverter for computer. I think the cost might be preventing the use of inverter for the computer.
