as always there are doomsayers and all, haven't we heard so many dooms day news like years ago when the 3rd world ward would be in the year 2000, etc it's the same as the cliche "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" but I would rather live every minute and thank God for every blessing. The feeling is not good to always hear those kinds of news, specially when you have a 5 year old & a 1 year old.

According to www.space.com , Apophis will fly closer to Earth than some satellites in 2029, but isn’t expected to hit in 2036.
The one that worries me is Toutatis. It crosses our orbit about 4 times in its orbit.

Im always watching Discovey channel and have heard several near earth orbit asteriods and comets that could come in close proximity with earth. Maybe Apophis is one of them though it was not mentioned in its latest edtion. Its true that there are a lot of heavinly bodies that could pose threat to mankind's existince. In any case NASA and other international agencies are surely doing their best to prevent such horrific event to happen in the near future.
