The Dixie Chicks - Awarded 5 Grammys 2/11/07
United States
February 12, 2007 9:27am CST
I was delighted to hear that the Dixie Chicks walked away with 5 Grammys at last night's award ceremony! The album of the year award was for "Taking the Long Way" and record and song was "Not Ready to Make Nice". They now hold 13 Grammys in total.

They deserved everything they got. It is funny when they came back on the road they would go down South and still not have sell out shows but in Canada they would sell out so fast. It is great they won all those awards.

with all the right wing back lash over their political stance people have forgotten that they also make great music, good for them.

I saw some of the acceptance speech this morning on the news. I'm glad that their shining spotlight is a positive one. I hated all the controversy.

I am horse this morning from screaming so loud for them last night! I love it when the little one quoted Bart Simpson with the "Hee Hee". That was such a "IN YOUR FACE!" and a well deserved one. I am glad they are showing all those hateful jerks, you can speak you mind and no one, no one can keep you down for it. I reckon they showed some they can use a boot as well, LOL.

I didn't watch the Grammy show. I would rather read the news the next day to see who won. Now I am going to watch the videos to see if I can catch a little bit of it. I was so happy to hear that they won. They are great performers and their music is wonderful.

I really really was happy when I watched it yesterday. I cheered for them, and believe that they earned it. People are so judgemental, but they learn to let go of their prejudices and disagreements in the face of true art and talent. I am happy for them, and I hope that they stay true to themselves and their work. Hopefully, they keep it going and continue to make us happy with their wirk.

I stopped watching the Grammy's last night before they had won anything but that is awesome! They did a great job performing last night! I forget the lead singer's name (natalie?) but she looked amazing last night...probably the best I've ever seen her look. I love the song "Not Ready To Make Nice" and I'm glad that their fans have come back around to accepting them and their music.

I don't think that their "real" fans ever stopped accepting them and their music.

I was well and truly quite happy when my mother told me that they had won 5 of the little statues last night. Completely deserving of those awards. Saw them live last year twice and they were both such great shows. Hearing the new songs definetly was a nice treat as well. Being an Australian I never quite got the fuss about what they said that time. I was completely blinded by the shinging lights of the US and actually believed it was a place of free speech. Glad to see that atleast to some extent that phase (the backlash) appears to have moved on for them.

I didn't get to see the Grammy's but on my way to work this morning I heard that. I was really surprised over that. I wouldn't have ever dreamed that would happen.
